  • On one of my LA trips I received a last minute notice on a show called Twist. I remembered hearing positive reviews of the show while I was living in NY and had run into Paul Leschen, the composer, at the Drama Desk cocktail party at the Arte Café a few months previous. I flew back to NY to meet with Gila Sand, the writer. She and I hit it off and, a week and a half later, I was on a flight back to LA with a duffle bag with four outfits in it and my backpack with my camera to start rehearsals. The day I stepped off the airplane, I had my first screen test-- with Oliver Stone. I had a few bucks in my pocket, a few offers of couches to sleep on, and a dream to chase. During rehearsals I continued to audition and was called in to have a screen test for Joe Wright and his project THE SOLOIST. That same week, I opened TWIST to rave reviews. Thanks to one of the cast members, I had another couch to sleep on while we were in rehearsal. After opening, I grabbed my bags and started sleeping on the floor of another friend's apartment. During TWIST, I also filmed MISSING (dirs. Michael Koerbel and Camila Tanabe). Shortly after the close of twist, I filmed 1505 (dir Sriram Das). Though the writers had been striking since November, I continued to audition for projects and continued to have positive feedback. I was testing well.
